The world has been agog with the news of the Tesla CEO, Elon Reeves Musk buying the social media company, Twitter, as he declared and as confirmed by the Twitter CEO, Parag Agrawal. There have been mixed feelings, reactions, and loads of analysis about what is going on.
Elon most obviously has millions of fans interested in his activities, who follow closely everything he does, and who would love for him to acquire Twitter as one of his growing number of companies and affect the changes he stated.

Why does he want to buy Twitter?
Elon Musk is the CEO of Tesla, the world-leading electric vehicles manufacturer (electric cars and trucks). Tesla also designs and manufactures battery energy storage from home to grid-scale, solar panels and solar roof tiles, and related products and services. It is one of the world’s most valuable companies and remains its most valuable automaker, with more than the US $1 trillion market capitalization.

Another company owned by Elon is ‘The Boring Company.’ According to a statement on their website, “The Boring Company creates safe, fast-to-dig, and low-cost transportation, utility, and freight tunnels,” The mission is to “solve traffic, enable rapid point-to-point transportation and transform cities.”
He intends to achieve this with hyper-speed vehicles called the hyperloop.
Many people have questioned the feasibility of this technology and also its cost-effectiveness.

Musk says he is buying Twitter to defend democracy and protect freedom of expression. He refers to himself as a “free speech absolutist,” He believes that Twitter gives people such a voice to express themselves. Sorry to be a free speech absolutist.
He had described Twitter as the “digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.”
Twitter shapes a lot of global conversations, has been doing so since its existence, and is even more relevant today. So the ownership of such a powerful platform is significant, and Elon knows this.
In a series of tweets, Musk made some suggestions for improving Twitter. He suggested that Twitter turn the site’s HQ into a homeless shelter and also that they should remove advertising from the platform’s premium service.

I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law.
If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect.
Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.
